Kyoto/London − KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH is expanding its presence at the European headquarters of the ceramics division in Mannheim with a comprehensive investment of around 20 million euros. The company plans to build a new administration centre as well as a logistics and production hall to further drive their growth. In addition, a part of the current company site, which houses energy-intensive buildings, will be sold to a real estate investor who will then establish new companies on the site.
Building in ecological and economic balance
As a developer and manufacturer of high-performance ceramics, Kyocera has set itself the goal of reconciling ecology and economy and is committed to environmental management. In the past, Kyocera has already demonstrated how important it is for the company to be involved in environmental issues. Consequently, it was selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, among other things. Kyocera also plans to reduce its own greenhouse gas emissions by 46 percent at Group level by 2031 and increases the use of renewable energies by a factor of 20. The campus makes its contribution to these ambitious goals. It is being built according to ecological principles and it has direct road access, modern infrastructure, and an attractive green area with terraces for the employees.
Key project data
The project includes a new production and logistics building as well as a barrier-free administration building. Both new buildings cover around 2,300 m² each and are largely built with solid wood walls. The roof areas are extensively green and largely equipped with photovoltaic modules. The infrastructure will also be expanded to include its own electricity, water and wastewater supply. Heating and cooling will be provided by waste heat from the sintering furnaces.
An attractive employer in the metropolitan region
KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH offers attractive framework conditions and development opportunities in a highly dynamic high-tech company and is regarded as a secure employer in the Mannheim metropolitan region. Due to the company’s expansion strategy, numerous open positions are advertised on the website’s career portal.
