Maintenance

Efficiency and longevity can only be maximized if the individual components of a photovoltaic system are used optimally.

A photovoltaic system is low-maintenance but not maintenance-free and should therefore be inspected or serviced regularly, at least once a year, by a specialist to ensure that the PV system and its components will function continuously well in the future and that the system generates good energy yields.

An annual visual inspection should be carried out by an expert. During the process, the following points should be examined:

  • All parts of the for damage caused by e.g. animals, weather influences, etc.
  • Dirt, vegetation, etc.
  • Roof penetrations
  • Roof cabling
  • Alternating current circuit

Every 2 to 4 years the following tests should be carried out by a specialist:

  • Recurring test in accordance with DIN EN 62446 [VDE0126-23]
    • Alternating current circuit
    • Passability of the protective equalization conductor
    • Testing the open circuit voltage and the short-circuit current of the PV modules
    • Insulation resistance
    • Functional test

By using special measuring instruments, Kyocera's experts are able to inspect professionally the photovoltaic system for possible faults and defects. After the check you will receive a detailed test report from us.
