KYOCERA Document Solutions UK’s Service Trophy 2013

Manchester was the location of this year’s UK finals for the KYOCERA Service Trophy.

From over 300 KYOCERA trained Service Engineers in the UK, 15 made it to the UK heats and of the three finalists, John Crookes from Arena Group took first place and won the UK Service Engineer Trophy for 2013, £500 of Amazon vouchers, and a place in the European finals which will be held in October in Germany. There John will compete with engineers from 11 European countries for a Spring 2014 trip to Japan and a tour of the new KYOCERA facilities in Vietnam.

Richard Bethany from KLM Digital Ltd was awarded second place and Richard Simms, another Arena Group engineer was placed third this year.

Mick Harrison, Group Service Manager, Arena Group said: “This is the third year we’ve put our technicians forward for the KYOCERA Service Trophy and this year’s winner John was in the Top 10 last year. Arena Group really approves of competitions where a service engineer can pit himself against his peers and be recognised and rewarded. Having two engineers in the UK Top 3 this year is great news for Arena Group, we promote ourselves on customer and service excellence and this award goes a long way to support our claims.”

Steve Trutch, Service Support Manager, KYOCERA Document Solutions UK Ltd, explains: “We’re delighted to celebrate with such worthy winners in Manchester. This year we changed the format for the UK stage of our European Service Engineer heats. We had a very tough online quiz and from the results of that we invited the three highest scorers to Manchester. There the three finalists did a written test created by our German competence centre and a second written test created in the UK to test the engineer’s on their product knowledge, what they knew about KYOCERA and general technical knowledge.”
